Laser scanning for cultural heritage preservation
This cultural-heritage project focused on an old building on Bohdana Khmelnytskogo Street in the center of Kyiv. The architectural elements required careful digital documentation because ornamental details, facade relief and historic fabric are difficult to capture reliably with conventional manual measurement.
SPM3D used reality-capture data to build accurate 3D mesh models and CAD drawings of the architectural elements. The workflow preserved both geometry and visual detail, creating a digital record that can support restoration planning, condition assessment, fabrication references and archive documentation.
The project included 4 days of field work and 21 days of processing. Final deliverables were 3D mesh models and CAD drawings suitable for cultural heritage preservation and technical review.
